San Antonio Attractions

BUDGET TRAVEL

If you want to explore Texas, come to San Antonio. This is because San Antonio ranks first in tourism in Texas. In my last, but first time visit, I could explore the major San Antonio attractions such as the River walk, five missions, the historic Alamo, zoo, the tower of America, and so on. This time I planned to visit the remaining San Antonio attractions. Believe me, after exploring all of them, even you will rank San Antonio as one of your favorite family holiday destinations in the Texas country.

My Visit

The most fascinating attraction that I could not visit last time was the Plaza Wax Museum and Ripley’s Believe or Not! at the Alamo Plaza. Both of them are under one building wherein the former offers more than 250 wax models of the famous personalities, which tend to appear quite real. As seen from some few steps away, it seems as the figures are so real that they can simply not be wax models. The Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum houses eight galleries full of strange, funny, and frightening exhibits exceeding 500 on its three storeys. The timings of both are Sun-Thurs: 10am-8pm and Fri-Sat: 10am-10pm. The ticket booth shuts down at exactly one hour before closing.

Then, fairly accessible from the downtown, I could make for the day trips to certain worthy sites around the city. Among them, the first one was the Garner State Park situated on the Frio River in Concan. For the locals and nationals, this site is popular as among the chilling summer haven by being on or under the water. Swimming, paddling, or tubing all is available for some good relaxing and cool time in hot days. Besides these, there are also some recreation facilities such as golf, birding, nature trails, and hiking. The list of fun does not end here. Go by yourself and explore the untold attractions here! Similar water fun is enjoyed on the stretch of River Guadalupe at New Braunfels.

Next is the Lake Amistad near the frontier settlement of Del Rio, which was the result of the blocking the Rio Grande. It is a vast lake situated remotely with pristine waters. Its beauty is in its remote location with tranquil atmosphere that makes the lake simply worth visiting. Fredricksburg, due to its Hill Country environment, is among the hot destinations on the list of tourists. As a small town, its quaint shopping, superb dining, historical stories, and hosting of many events and festivals never fail to entertain you.
